DeNovo’s head has called on Trinidad and Tobago to reform its education system to respond to the disruptive possibilities of new technology in the energy sector.

Joel Pemberton, CEO and founder of Trinidadian upstream company DeNovo, made the comment yesterday in a speech at the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference.

“I can confidently say that Trinbagonians are second to none with our technical capabilities; however, the disruption caused by technology requires a complete overhaul of our entire education system to create leaders who can think big and articulate their vision – leaders who are flexible, agile, collaborative and capable of navigating the new ways of working in a technology-driven world,” he said. “This evolution needs to happen now, if we want to have a strong foundation for future success.”
